DON'T |
|
DO use clear,
clean cello when wrapping gift baskets or a grouping of
smaller gifts. DON'T use
reindeer-adorned cello or any of its tasteless
cousins. It's the equivalent of your
spinster aunt or grade one teacher's cable-knit sweater
with snowman appliqué. Rest
assured...at 2B&B, clean, clear, crisp cello is
the way we go.
(Forget the fact that we knit
snowman-applique vests in our spare time.
So much more tasteful than sweaters.)
LOL!!!

'TOOL GIRL' |

MELISSA
OLDHAM
Having joined us only a few
months ago, Melissa is very proud and passionate about
bringing a product she finds so exceptional to the
Kitchener-Waterloo Region of
Ontario.
And believe us...this is a girl
who can do everything.
Yes, she loves the girly girl
stuff, but make no mistake, she can also get down and
dirty.
A seasoned house 'flipper',
this fabulous gal can yield both a hammer for house
renos or some sharp shears for that perfect cello tear
and ribbon finish!
(What's not to love about a
girl who can hold her own!)
Make sure you contact her early in the
fall to scoop up all her fabulous holiday finds.
Now if only she could
find a hot pink hammer.
Oh wait ... she already
has!!!!
Here are her thoughts on joining the
2B&B family:
What was your
educational and career background prior to joining
2B&B?
"I had been working for a
logistics company in the accounting department since
college and decided it was time for a change! I
wanted something that allowed me to explore my creative
side and have more control over my
time."
Can you tell us about your
family?
"My family has always been very
supportive of everything that I do. My parents
think it's fantastic that I'm doing something that's my
own, and my sister is always eager to jump in and help
whenever she can. I wouldn't be surprised to see her
join the 2B&B team some time in the
future!" What appealed to
you about joining 2B&B?
"What originally appealed
to me was the uniqueness of the products. I'm
personally always looking for the kind of gifts that get
a reaction out of people and 2B&B delivers on
that! The franchise structure is great too. The
other franchisees are always willing to share their
ideas and experiences, so although I'm in business
alone, it never really feels that way. Not to
mention the fact that, being a blond, it just really
seemed to fit :)"
What is your goal with 2B&B in your
community?
"So far this year I've been
working with some really great charities in the
community, such as Make-A-Wish of Southwestern Ontario
and a couple in Cambridge that participates in
seven Breast Cancer Walk-For-The-Cure Marathons
across Canada! I think 2B&B is a
fabulous brand and I'd love to see it become a household
name, not just in the tri-city area, but across North
America!" What are your
favorite 2B&B products?
"Everything is wonderful, but
some favorites: I absolutely adore the White
Chocolate/Cranberry Sweet Truth Toffee! And the
Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Butter. it smells like a
tropical vacation!!!"THANK YOU
MELISSA!!!!
We are proud to have you
be
part of the 2B&B
team.

| A Better Use for
Curling
Ribbon |
 |
|
DON'T let this cute little
Santa fool you.
The Curling Ribbon is for kids'
crafts only.
DO
use lavish, beautiful wired ribbon. It can turn a
simple, inexpensive bar of elegant soap or even
just a tin of hard candies into a memorable token gift
or hostess gift. DON'T use
that tacky thin ribbon that you curl with
scissors. You want to elevate, not cheapen your
already cheap
gift.
Shall we repeat:
DO NOT BE TEMPTED!
|
| Gold =
Glamorous??? |
DON'T go gaga over
gold |
|
DO use
gold and silver accents, in moderation, for
holiday season
gifts. DON'T assume more
gold and silver equals better. It equals
tacky. If you were trying to compete with drug
store gift baskets, you would have just bought one
there. Think of it this way...
A cubic zirconia is no
diamond.
(and don't let him tell you otherwise)
Control the
bling. | |

1980's decor - a
definite
DON'T |
|
Want to buy my house?
Recently Renovated.
DO
use bold color in your gift decor.
Think hot pink, lime green, turquoise.
Paired with chocolate brown, it's very of the
moment.
DON'T think
bold color means heather green and navy with
maroon trim. That's like realtor speak for
'designer upgrades' on 1970's homes updated in the
80's and on the market today.
Pastel pink toilet
anyone?
(Remember: if the
color doesn't work in your home, it certainly
shouldn't be the focal point of your gift
decor. Period.)
|
| Black & White and
Red(Hot)
All Over |
 |
Black & White done right
- definitive
DO
DO pair black
and white. Say, crisp black paper with white
ribbon. It is clean and
classic. DON'T use
black and white newspaper to wrap your
gifts. I tried that during a
particularly thrifty Christmas season, and my
mother wouldn't even put the gifts under the
tree.
Better
still...
Forget the wrap and have the
lovely pros at 2B&B do it right with one of
our fabulous gifts or gift
baskets!
You have
better things to do than slave over gift
wrapping.
Like
actually reading the paper rather than
wrapping with
it.
What an inspired
idea!!!

| Cool Color
Coordination |
 |
| DO
- Matchy, Matchy (with
restraint)
DO use variations
of the same shade. Say, pale green tissue, a
lime green bag, and a darker green accent.
Alternatively, pair beautiful products with
packaging elements that echo one another
(i.e. a tin of loose leaf tea with
olive green label paired with a milled soap in
lime green box.)
This balanced pairing is seamless and adds a
touch of controlled luxury.
DON'T compile an
assortment of mismatched, cheap products with
similar packaging in an attempt to duplicate
this idea. Quality always wins.
Better to have two select items, than
twenty
toss-away
ones.
Alas,
whether you have the budget
for a
dozen quality
items or just one,
fear not...
it's all in the presentation
(and good taste, of
course)
We have you
covered.

A
little note from the editor of these delicious
tidbits...
Laura Jayne
McDonald is a young mompreneur and franchisor. Just 30
years old, she is the proud mom of two beautiful girls
- with another babe on the way (yikes) - and the
co-founder and co-CEO of Two Blonds & a Brunette Gift Co.,
a celebrity-endorsed gift and gift basket franchise with
locations across Canada and the U.S.
(as if you didn't already know
that).
With
a somewhat stunted sense of smell and taste, she
leaves much of the product selection up to her talented
co-founder, Seri, she of keen olfactory and gustatory
awareness.
Nevertheless, Ms. McDonald makes up for it
with the witty one-liners you read herein. Or so she
hopes.
